Kitchentray is a project for a better society. This is not limited to just delivering your daily kitchen needs at your door, we believe there is a lot more that needs to be done.
All those who are reading this are blessed to be able to afford good things in life for you and your family and even have the luxury to get the things delivered at your door, but then there are people who are not so blessed. There are millions who sleep empty stomach each night
Here are few shocking & painful statistics:
There are approximately 820 million chronically hungry people in the world and a third of these are in India alone.
Over 20 crore people sleep without food every night in India.
7000 people die every day because of hunger in India.
25 lac die every year &
5 Indians die every minute because of hunger

Most of the crimes happen because of hunger. Will like to share a real incident….
A husband and wife were driving back home, when suddenly 3 men on a bike hit their car from behind. The man got down to check the damage to his car, unaware of the trap used to divert his attention. When the man got down, the 3 men on bike brandished knifes and asked him to hand over all the valuables he was carrying. When his wife saw this she got down to help her husband, the 3 men stabbed her out of fear. The lady was 6 months pregnant. Though the men were immediately caught for their heinous crime, but when interrogated, they said they had no other choice since they were hungry from past 3 days. They were sentenced, but do you think this will guarantee that they will not repeat this?
Instead of just sympathizing with the family for their loss we thought we need to take a step to do our bit to improve the situation. Team kitchentray feeds the homeless and hungry every weekend at different locations. We do this purely from our own pockets.
